    The Portmanteau both exists and doesn't. It has no fixed address as it sometimes just turns up. At the moment it is sited in the USA but tomorrow it could be in Marrakech. The shop can twist reality to be where it needs to be and the locals will swear it has always been there but no one ever goes in.

    The truth is more subtle, the shop belongs to Harrison Pearce, an unaligned mage who balks at the council of mages telling him what to do. He holds a good inventory though and stocks goods and sundries for all manner of magical practise. Everything from black candles to phials of manticores blood.
